With a track record of putting effective modern systems in place, Melissa Navarro was recently appointed as Director of Finance, Reporting & Information Systems at MRC.
“Melissa’s forward-thinking approach makes her right for the role,” MRC President Kevin Cook said. “She’s been exposed to so many different parts of the business and her ability to create technology roadmaps is essential as we continue to take a more modern approach to railcar leasing.”
Along with more than ten years of experience in the rail industry, Navarro recently became a licensed CPA in Illinois. Before her promotion, she was Associate Director of Accounting at MRC, joining the company in 2021. While in that role, she spearheaded projects to automate processes to increase operational efficiency. She also conducted comprehensive lease analysis to facilitate decision-making processes regarding lease agreements.
“MRC is growing and strengthening its commitment to responsiveness along the way,” Navarro said. “I’m incredibly proud that I can contribute my expertise and help MRC exceed expectations for our customers.”
Navarro is an avid runner and enjoys challenging herself to beat her times in races, including half-marathons. She is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago with an M.B.A. in Information Systems.
